One of the things I love to do while I’m in Paris is to get a manicure. Let’s face it – nobody wants to be in one of the style capitals of the world with tatty nails.
Depending on where we are staying, I’ll head with the Parisians to either Le Bon Marché or BHV and make a reservation with the in-store manicurists.
My hands never look better than after a proper manicure. My nails are glossy and they are a uniform size and shape. No ragged cuticles spoil the look and top quality moisturisers leave my skin soft and smelling sensational!
My preferred locations use Kure Bazaar products (which are reportedly lower in nasties than some other nail polishes). But it is not the product that sees me going back again and again. It is how the whole experience make me feel that appeals to me.
Somehow I just feel more ‘put together’ after getting my nails done.
This feeling might explain why French women seem to get manicures so often. Every time I visit my favourite French manicurists I’m always interested in how so many of the clients seem like regulars. There are warm greetings and chats about families and recent outings.
I can only conclude that French women like feeling put together too and as a result, take their nail routines seriously.
So to Frenchify Your Friday this week, why not spend some time beautifying your nails. Perhaps you could book into the local manicurist and get the works done. Or you might like to give your hands a little self care at home, and take the time to paint you nails in your favourite shade.
Either way, you’ll be able to channel your inner French woman. And your hands will definitely thank you for it.
All the best for a fabulous Friday.
And until next time – au revoir.
