Finding French Inspiration – In January

French inspiration is everywhere

Welcome to 2016!

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous festive season.

I was fortunate enough to spend time with family and friends over the Christmas period. And although I headed straight back to work after Christmas, I’ve been able to use the public holidays and the weekends to do some planning and relaxing – both of which are lovely things to do in early January.

I’ve also found some time to source bits and pieces of French inspiration to share with all of you. I hope you have as much fun reading these snippets as I did finding them!

As always, let’s start with what’s happening in Paris during January. This month, the ‘Soldes’ signs got my attention (as they often do) over at Paris Perfect. Apart from the famous sales, the Paris Perfect team have shared lots of other things you might like to do if you are visiting Paris during January.

And, if you do happen to be in Paris during January, there is a chance you’ll strike some rain (let’s be honest, there’s a better than average chance that you’ll have to deal with rain regardless of when you visit Paris). To get you inspired for dealing with inclement weather, check out these gorgeous wet-weather photos on the Hip Paris blog.

While I’m on the topic of pictures of Paris, Eiffel Tower fans should have a little look at France 24 for a year in the life of the Eiffel Tower.

If you’re not visiting Paris this month, but are thinking about booking a trip later in the year, you might want to take some of this advice from About Travel before making you start making your reservations.

If you are a regular reader, you are probably aware that Scott and I are both big Instagram fans. That’s why I was a bit excited about Bonjour Paris’ recent list of Paris Instagram accounts to follow. And while you are checking things out on Instagram, if you haven’t already, don’t forget to have a little look at the Distant Francophile account

I always try to find a touch of French fashion advice for the monthly inspiration posts – and this month, I came across some pointers from WhoWhatWear for selecting heels or flats.

I love some of the thoughts that Tonya Leigh – founder of French Kiss Life – comes up with. In this piece, she sheds some light on why French women always look so good – while reminding me to sit up straight while I’m working!

And to finish – a little light hearted fun in the form of 43 Interesting Facts About France from Inside the Travel Lab.

Wishing you all an amazing January. And if you’ve come across any French inspiration recently, feel free to share it in the comments section below.

And until next time – au revoir.
